Initial Consultation and Process

A Structured Start to Your Therapy

Before we begin therapy, we’ll schedule an initial consultation. This session is designed to establish a clear foundation: we’ll get to know each other, discuss your concerns in detail, and outline therapy or counselling options specifically tailored to your needs. Together, we’ll create a structured plan, mapping out the next steps and setting a clear framework for the duration and progression of your therapy or counselling. Every part of the process is designed to bring order and clarity, so you always know where we’re headed and how we’ll get there.

The Initial Consultation

In the initial consultation, you have the opportunity to see if the "chemistry" feels right and if you feel well-supported and understood. We’ll discuss your concerns together and develop an initial plan tailored to your specific needs.

We’ll also cover any organizational questions and handle the necessary paperwork.

Costs and Reimbursement

For psychological therapy (clinical psychological treatment), you can apply for a reimbursement from your health insurance provider, which will be transferred to you after the treatment. This requires a medical certificate from your general practitioner or a specialist, to be submitted before the second session with me.

Cost of the Initial Consultation (1.5 units / 75 minutes):
Fee: €120 incl. VAT.

Clinical Psychological Treatment:
Cost per session (50 minutes): €90 incl. VAT.

Clinical Psychological Counseling
Cost per session (50 minutes): €90 incl. VAT.

The counselling and treatment sessions are held on-site in my practice.

If there is a clinically diagnosed disorder (ICD-10 diagnosis), partial reimbursement from the health insurance provider may be possible:

ÖGK: €33.70
BVAEB: €46.60
SVS: €45.00

For this, you will need a medical certificate between the first and second session and should apply for reimbursement before the 11th session. Expenses for psychological treatment/therapy may also be claimed as medical expenses (extraordinary burden) in the annual tax return.

As of 1.1.2024, health insurance reimbursement is also available for clinical psychological diagnostics. Additional insurance or other sources may (partially) cover the costs – we can clarify this during the initial consultation.

Cancellation Policy

Please note that appointments not cancelled at least 24 hours in advance will be charged in full. Appointments cancelled in a timely manner remain free of charge. Thank you for your understanding.
